Using Third Party IOS SDK?

Postby mosaic121 » Wed Mar 06, 2013 4:53 pm

I would like to use Moai for ios development but I need to know if I can use a third party C++ archive library into Moai? The library is a Brightcove player ios SDK. I am not very familiar with C / C++ and I am also new to Moai! Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

John

You can use c functions in lua via lua-c api.

I recommend you buy the newest version of "Programming in Lua".
After understanding some functions using lua-c connection, see the moai-dev branch source. Many third party features are implemented in lua. MOAI guys really good to use lua-c api, so you can copy and modify one of them easily.

If you need access from Lua's interface, you'll need to do what tifereth suggests.
If not, you can always link as you would do in any other iOS app, since the host is an actual iOS app.
