The fiddle website looks and runs fine, and the embedded player shows the code, but when I hit play in the embedded player, it goes blank except for the UI. Same browser, different tabs, Firefox 27 on Ubuntu 12.04. The embedded player works in Chromium browser though, same OS session... screenshot

So firefox works fine on moaifiddle.com, but wont run the embedded?.
Can you try visiting the embedded site directly in firefox:
http://moaifiddle.com/Q09BJWGMW6/3/embed

and if it doesn't run, can you bring up the console (f12) and see if there are any GLError lines or other errors or warnings. It might be your adblock ?

also these sites will tell you if firefox can run it, the information would be handy if it cant.

Same problem on Windows8 w/Firefox. *All* fiddles halfnelson has linked (including embedded link) run *except* the fiddle embedded in the forum, which shows the code, but upon playing, goes to a blank screen exactly as naturally's screenshot above.

Could be an adblock thing. The forum ones are just iframes pointing to the embedded links I posted above.
Edit: Yep can reproduce, I will investigate. Thanks for the feedback

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=595307 turns out iframe can't access indexDB from an iframe, an I think indexdb fails on safari. I will work around it by only caching if possible on indexdb otherwise skip cache.

@davek, @naturally, @scottwb, @vavius : I think I traced the problem to hard dependency on IndexedDB which firefox doesn't support in an iframe on a different host and safari doesn't support at all.

I have resolved this problem and the fiddle above now works in my firefox. It would be good to know if it works in safari.

Thanks for all the feedback.

@naturally : one last change to the bbcode, that big fat border on the fiddle is from the iframe, it seems that border="0" isn't doing anything, we need to remove border="0" and add style="border: 0"

That's fantastic!

however I have a request. Could you please include any test zip file to your file system so I could have a go with samples/test/zipfs-failed-mount/ example ? That would be really appreciated.

And where is that Save button? Can't find it.

So .. halfnelson .. moaisnippets.info is back - what do you think about making a MOAIFiddle feature for it, so we can run the snippets directly in the site?

The player can be in an iframe, and the source code can be posted to it directly from the snippet, similar to how it works with the fiddle editor.
Code: Select all
  1.

  2. <form method="post" action="http://moaifiddle.com/snippet" target="result">

  3.     <input type="hidden" value="<insert fiddle text here>" name="fiddle" >

  4.     <input type="submit" value="Run">

  5. </form>

  6.

  7.

  8. <iframe name="result" id="result"  width="640" height="480" style="border: 0">

  9. </iframe>

  10.

This has been rolled out. I am now working on a console button for it since some of the snippets just dump stuff to the console.

Cool .. I added a button called "EDIT in MOAI Fiddle" to every snippet .. seems to work nicely! :)

Awesome! is there some kind of api I can use to have people submit a chunk of code from a fiddle as a new snippet.
I would love to add a button on moaifiddle that says: "create a moaisnippet" and have it launch moaisnippets.info with the source field filled in etc.

Good idea - I'll add it! Let me work out the best way to do this, and then I'll PM you details ..

At this point, I see us pushing this forward as a full-blown IDE for MOAI one of these days. ;)

EDIT: any chance we could bump up the Memory limit on the MoiaJS host? Also, how do we go about adding files to the onboard filesystem?
